Warehouse Assistant
We design, develop and manufacture materials testing machines and software and software used for the computer-controlled testing of soils and rocks. This technology is used to evaluate the mechanical properties that are key in geotechnical and earthquake engineering design!
Purpose of the role
Our client is looking for a Warehouse assistant to join their busy Warehouse department and support their teams with the day-to-day running of the company warehouse processes. The role is varied and requires an individual to be medically fit and capable of moving and lifting light loads. They will need to have a hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Assist in dealing with goods in, including: checking goods against delivery notes, assure in undamaged condition and transfer to appropriate workshop area
Aid in stock control duties such as counting stock, labelling and locating – all with high degrees of accuracy
Aid in stock takes including weekly P.I. counts and S/O allocation auditing
Ensuring stock movement is processed accurately through the Sage ERP system
Assist in stock evaluation and ordering of ancillary items
Manage the process for picking and issuing parts and/or assemblies to the production team
Organise and manage the work-in-progress (WIP) shelf
Provide assistance as and when required to fitters and engineers
Control of the bulk stock items process
Assist with packing equipment prior to shipment of goods as required
Occasional driving of small company van to collect or deliver goods from local suppliers
Ensure Health &Safety of warehouse area is adhered to at all times
Ensure warehouse is kept as a neat and tidy environment at all times
Key Requirements
Previous experience in a similar environment
Medically fit and capable of lifting light loads
Capable of standing for long periods of time
Excellent organisational skills
Knowledge and use of MS Office
Computer literate
Relevant Experience
· Previous stores experience is desirable
· Knowledge or previous use of Sage 200 or similar system for stock control is desired
