Stores Supervisor

Our client based in Aldermaston is looking to recruit a Stores Supervisor to join their team.

Our client’s products consist of electro-mechanical instruments that can be deployed on land, downhole or in the ocean and can operate standalone or part of a larger system. The role is office based from their headquarters situated on the borders of Hampshire and Berkshire.

Working as a member of the Direct Manufacturing team, the role will be mainly based our client’s site in Aldermaston, although the Stores Supervisor must be flexible and able to work in any manufacturing area.

Ideally you will have experience of working within an SME production / manufacturing environment along with experience using ERP systems, ideally Epicor E10.

OBJECTIVES

The Stores Supervisor will oversee the Stores function on a day-to-day basis and work alongside the Dispatch Supervisor to manage workload across Stores and Dispatch (“Material Handling team”). The Stores Supervisor will have overall responsibility for accurately and efficiently receiving, controlling, picking and preparing materials for all stakeholders. In support of this, the Stores Supervisor will also be responsible for stock control of Main Stores and all consumable materials, including maintaining accurate stock records throughout.

The Stores Supervisor and Dispatch Supervisor will support one another in their respective roles, and are jointly responsible for ensuring that the Material Handling Team are able to perform all duties within the Stores and Dispatch functions as required.

DUTIES

The Stores Supervisor will be responsible for

· Understanding and managing the Stores function on a day to day basis.

· Working alongside the Dispatch Supervisor to manage workload across the Material Handling Team.

· Safe and accurate storage and control of all products, parts and materials in Main Stores

· Stock management in the Stores warehouses.

· Perpetual Inventory counts on all Stores items.

· Use of the Material Queue to fulfil any requirements from Stores.

· Chasing and following up all shortages, by any appropriate means

· On Time picking (kitting) of jobs

· Picking and transacting consumable materials

· Picking and transacting kit shortages and ad hoc requirements

· Receiving goods from suppliers including checking;

o Accurate quantities

o Correct items and revisions to those ordered and corresponding paperwork

o Electronic archiving of delivery paperwork

o Identifying product at lot level with internal labels

· Providing immediate feedback to management if any date may be missed

· Maintain high standards to support and contribute to the manufacturing process in such a manner that safe, efficient and effective.

· Learn and interact with the company enterprise resources planning tools (Epicor) to be able to resolve issues and exceptions that occur from time to time.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable:

· A good understanding of stores environment ideally from within the manufacturing/engineering/electronics sector

· Experience of working within an SME production / manufacturing environment

· Experience using ERP systems, ideally Epicor E10

· Material handling qualifications, fork lift licence, van driving experience, first aid qualifications
