Our client in Aldershot are looking to recruit an
Electronics Test Engineer. The main
duties are to test and fault-find newly manufactured electronics assemblies, carry
out some simple assembly of complete units and repair in-service equipment.
The work involves following a written test
procedure to carry out a series of non-automated tests using standard test
equipment and if discrepancies are found undertaking fault-finding to resolve
Another important part of the work is maintenance
of overall quality of the electronics units. This includes specifics such as
checking the overall quality of soldering and assembly but also more subtle
effects e.g. a voltage level that may be in spec but is noticeably different
Production is fairly small-scale, typical batch
size is 25 of any one unit.
You may also be asked to assist in putting
together kits of parts for building new batches of electronics boards.
There will also be occasional involvement with
new products development, typically building and assisting in testing of
prototypes and construction of test rigs.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all the
test equipment and accessories, especially cable and test leads, are in good
working order at all times. If a problem, or even suspected problem, is
encountered with any of these you must stop using that item immediately and
take appropriate steps to get it rectified.
You must maintain your immediate working area in
a reasonably clean and tidy state.
You must comply with all applicable Company operating
procedures especially those relating to Health and Safety.
As with many smaller hi-tech companies you will
be expected to show reasonable flexibility about the work you are asked to
Assisting with the work carried out by our
Calibration and Service Department. As the name implies this covers a range of
activities including calibration, maintenance and repair of our clients Test
Machines both newly manufactured and in-service at customer sites, preparation
of documentation etc. There may be opportunities for overseas travel.
