Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator (part-time)

Job Description

Primary Purpose

Reporting to the Group Leader, the primary purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate the internal and sub-contracted maintenance activities in order to ensure site plant, machinery and equipment is fully maintained, fit for purpose, safe to use and fully operational at all times.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with contractors to organise and ensure routine servicing, inspection and testing is carried out on all production machinery and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with master maintenance schedule.
  • Liaise with contractors to organise and ensure routine servicing, inspection and testing is carried out on all site plant, equipment and systems.
  • To respond to plant, production machinery and equipment breakdown and ensure non-routine repairs are carried out safely and effectively
  • Respond to equipment fault alarms
  • Manage external service contracts in conjunction with site management
  • Maintain and update master maintenance schedule
  • Raise purchase requests for replacement parts and consumables
  • Maintain and control of digital copies of relevant inspection, test, servicing and maintenance records and reports
  • Maintain general upkeep of premises (general repair maintenance work)
  • Liaise where necessary with Landlord, insurance assessors, local council and HSE when required
  • Ensure equipment checks, inspection, calibration and testing are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and other compliance requirements.
  • Vet contractors to ensure they remain qualified and competent to do the contracted work required
  • Carry out safety risk assessments and develop safe systems of work related when required
  • Train and advise staff when required
  • Comply with safety regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • 5S Housekeeping activities

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Essential

  • Experience working in a similar site services or plant maintenance role in a machining/assembly manufacturing environment
  • General understanding and knowledge in working with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • General awareness of current safety regulations related to maintenance management of site plant and equipment  
  • City and guilds, ONC, HNC, NVQ or equivalent related to general plant maintenance or facilities management
  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft office software

Desirable

  • Understanding and knowledge of conventional type production machinery
  • Understanding and knowledge of site plant and equipment including air-handling units, compressors and LEV equipment
  • Understanding of ISO50001 Energy Management System  requirements  
Hours of work are 7.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday. There may on occasions be a need to work additional hours during the week or possibly weekends.
