Job Title: Prototype Wirer

Job Description

Our client are seeking a highly motivated Panel / Rack Wirer to help expand their business and support their products. As a member of the department you will be responsible for performing electrical construction, test and modification of their tools. In addition, your duties will include other electrical biased tasks which will involve you working within their research laboratories.

 

Key responsibilities and tasks

 

        Detailed wiring and soldering (including building, fitting and assembly) of control panels, racks and bench assemblies working from engineering drawings and schematics, to determine assembly procedures

        Cut,ident and prepare electrical / electronic wiring and cabling according to specification

        Install wire and cable management bringing elements together to form a fully functional system, occasionally in tight and restricted areas

        Wire installation inspection including thorough continuity testing of assembled cables

        Fabricate and test electro-mechanical assemblies

        To record and feedback design change requirements to Electrical Design Engineers

        To conduct basic fault finding of electrical systems

 

Qualification, Skills / Relevant Experience

        Must be able to work efficiently as part of a team and to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

        Logical fault finding and ability to find and implement solutions

        Wiring and soldering skills equivalent to IPC standards

        Extensive wiring and soldering skills and experience in relation to panel, rack and prototype assembly

        Understand basic electrical theory – current, voltage and resistance

        Requirement to pay close attention to detail associated to the build of electrical systems, to a professional high standard with a strong emphasis on quality

        Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and wiring schedules

        Ability to work under minimal supervision

        Requirement to be flexible with working hours and overtime when required.
